The remote southwestern tip of the island, in
county Cork, is our destination.
There are three main peninsulas in this part of the island,
and we are located
on the southernmost one, called the Mizen Head.
It's a gorgeous area that
is relatively unknown and untouristed. The geography is rolling
hills, craggy
outcrops and green fields. We are on the coast,
situated on a bay. In this
part of Ireland, the land drops down
in very dramatic cliffs to the water.
